In the afternoon of May 13, Academician Sergei Chizhik, the First Vice-President of the Presidium of the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as "BAS"), and Zhang Ju, the Science and Technology Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Belarus, led a group to visit the Sino-Belarusian Industrial Technology Joint Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as " Sino-Belarusian Center"), an offshore incubator jointly established by Guangdong Academy of Sciences and Belarusian National Academy of Sciences, to exchange views on accelerating the implementation of the cooperation between BAS and Guangdong Academy of Sciences in science and technology innovation. The exchange group was received by Oleg Karnachev, Deputy General Manager of the Sino-Belarusian Center.

Mr. Karnachov extended warm welcome to the group led by Vice President Chizhik and Counsellor Zhang Ju, and briefly reported on the construction and development of the Sino-Belarusian Center. The relevant persons in charge introduced the general situation of industrial technology innovation and promotion of scientific and technological achievements transformation between the Sino-Belarusian Center and relevant research institutions, universities and enterprises of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and reported on a number of international scientific and technological achievements incubation projects that are currently being promoted and implemented.

Vice President Chizhik mentioned that the Belarusian government attaches importance to and participates in the "Belt and Road" construction, and the Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Guangdong Academy of Sciences work together to establish the Sino-Belarusian Center as an important platform for international scientific and technological cooperation and innovation between the two parties. The institutes under the Academy of Sciences of Belarus will support the work of the Sino-Belarusian Center and promote international scientific and technological cooperation between China and Belarus to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.

Counsellor Zhang Ju spoke highly of the innovative exploration of the Sino-Belarusian Center in the transformation of international scientific and technological achievements. She said that during the pandemic period, the Sino-Belarusian Center insisted on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and made important progress and accumulated rich and valuable experiences, playing the role of a "pathfinder" for the future incubation of international scientific and technological achievements by Sino-Belarusian institutions, enterprises and universities. It is hoped that the Sino-Belarusian Center will continue its efforts to become a platform for foreign exchanges and demonstrations in the field of science and technology cooperation between China and Belarus, play the role of a hub for R&D and cooperation in key technologies between China and Belarus, and to accelerate the establishment of a highland for the convergence of innovative resources, talents and technologies.
